A Year of Ampersands
The ampersand is clearly the most majestic of all the typographic logograms. So 300&65 Ampersands is consequently all kinds of awesome.
This one in Garamond Premier Pro is my favourite…

That is really the most gorgeous ampersand I’ve ever seen.
Not that I regularly check out ampersands, but I really might have to start. Off to enjoy your link now!
I tried using an ampersand in Garamond Premier Pro and it does NOT look like that. How do I get this one? I want it!
I’m so glad you asked!
This is a “stylistic alternative” glyph, meaning that it’s considered too ornamental to be used over and over in a large body of text, and is reserved for headings or titles. To access it in Photoshop: Make an ampersand and select it. Make it Garamond Premier Pro, Italic. Then go to the character palette and click the little menu on the top right corner. Go to OpenType, and then enable Stylistic Alternates. Bingo!
